When it comes to tanning, our advice is to exfoliate or prep your skin with a tan eraser. If you have any dirt or dead skin cells hanging around, your chances of having a patchy tan are much higher because the tan will fade in some spots quicker. You can use any of our self-tan or gradual tan products on your face as well, but we recommend only using the leftover residue on your mitt after you've tanned your whole body, as our faces absorb product more easily.

To ensure a streak-free, non-blotchy tan, make sure your skin is well-exfoliated and hydrated afterwards by drinking water and moisturizing daily. As for getting dressed, we recommend waiting until the tan feels slightly dry on the skin, then putting on some loose, dark clothing to prevent any unwanted staining or rubbing from tight clothes. For the first shower after tanning, we recommend no soaps, just a quick rinse with lukewarm water, so the tanning actives can keep developing to their darkest potential.
